Versace opened a new 37m2 shop in Bergdorf Goodman’s this week for ready-to-wear, accessories & shoes. The space is on the 2nd floor between Dolce & Gabanna & Gucci. The enhanced space is a step forward in the relationship between Bergdorf & Versace, who were absent from the iconic fashion store for 3 years till they reintered in 2007 but with a far from optimum space.
Bergdorf’s believe the space is capable of turning over in excess of $US4m, particularly once the economy improves.
The shop features a black lacquered writing table from the Versace Home collection, black velvet carpet and an ebony daybed with white tufting – reflective of the brand’s Fifth Avenue flagship. The accessories are displayed in a white leather fixture with concealed bulbs to provide a wash of light rather than harsh spotlighting.
