New marketing opportunities in Car Parks

fashionmallhomeCarspaze have created a new advertising platform for car park walls. It uses relatively new (dev 3 years ago) technology which allows high quality images to be printed onto specially developed fire retardant materials.

Using these “posters” areas of the carpark can be strongly branded. The posters can run around 20 car spaces wide and of course you could join them together.

Its not just posters though, Carspaze transforms the whole section of the carpark to fit with the brand being promoted. The pylons, lights, wheel stops – you name it.

There are a number of reasons to consider something like this…..

  1. Strongly branded spaces make it easier for people to find their car. Generally speaking people will remember they parked in “Johnnie Walker Black” more easily than that they parked on the 2nd floor over near the east wall.
  2. These branded experiences generate far higher revenue for the car parking operator – as they should because they create higher levels of brand awareness for the advertiser
  3. They can be upgraded into total brand experiences for the marketer (see JetBlue example below)
  4. They can be used as a form of “sympathitising” whereby brands subsidise or reduce the cost of carparking via the branded space – which of course has flow-on benefits for both the brand and the carparking operator.
  5. Some of these installations have been so successful as branding spaces that marketers have actually booked the carparks for events.

And for the eco-conscioius, the materials used are recycled panels, wheel stops made from crushed rubber tyres and lighting units made from recycled fibergalss & plastic.

Carspaze are currently in the US & Europe but are expanding through Asia.

Carspaze used for JetBlue

JetBlue’s use of Carspaze is very innovative. Its designed to bring alive the whole inflight experience. Seats & TV monitors are set in a cloud like environment with every third monitor being live – playing specific content into the parking garage.

From the end of June, each location with a JetBlue branded Carparking will have an onsite concierge who assists customers with shopping bags, provides mall information and distributes “inflight” snacks & drinks.
