Dubai Airport’s new upmarket wine store

Le-Clos-DubaiDubai Airport have opened a new, ultra-upmarket wine store at Terminal 3 in the Emirates First Class Lounge and on the shopping concourse.

Le Clos in Dubai is run by Maritime and Mercantile International (MMI), a subsidiary of The Emirates Group. It will be selling a selection of some of the rarest and most sought after wones from around the world, listing over 400 wines from France, Italy, US, South Africa, Spain, Australia, Chile & New Zealand. They also sell high-end spirits such as 40 year old single malts. Some of their selection includes Chateau Petrus 1947 (US12,500/bottle), Château Cheval Blanc 1961 in magnum ($15,750) and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2005 ($27,778/bottle).

It will be interesting to see what its sales end up like. I have to admit with LAGs issues these days, I’d want to do my homework very carefully before I spent $20,000+ on a bottle of wine & run the risk of loosing it going through transit at another airport.
