The Yellow Pages advertising from the early 80’s would have to rate as strategically some of the best – not to mention memorable & enjoyable.

The Gogomobile commercial

The Fly

Songs of Love

And one of my favourites – Roboto

The “Not Happy Jan” commercial was targeted at advertisers in the Yellow Pages – to try and build a sense that really a Yellow Pages ad was the most important part of your ad campaign – a critical part.  “Not Happy Jan” was so popular as a campaign that the phrase exists today in common use.

Robbin’s Veterinary Clinic was part of another series which featured tradesmen running into problems and finding the solutions in the Yellow Pages
