Landside Tax Free at Changi

changi airport experience logoChangi are moving from soft launch to full blown promotion with their “You Shop, We Absorb GST” promotion landside in T3.

Basically the promotion makes Changi Landside GST free. Not as good as duty free perhaps but still a good saving for visitors to the airport unable to enjoy the benefits of going airside.

CAAS General Director and CEO Lim Kim Choon indicated that during the trial phase of this promotion they saw an average sales increase of 40%.

This isn’t the only thing, however, which Changi is doing to attract the visitors. They are giving out S$5 discount vouchers when you spend more than S$30 in the participating stores. Also shoppers who drive to the airport enjoy the first hour of their parking free if they spend more than S$30 in T3’s public area.
