Chinese international airlines stopped offering paper tickets for international routes to Chinese travel agencies back in November. Domestic flights have followed suite.
IATA plan for all airlines around the world to stop using paper tickets by 1 June 2008, in an attempt to save the industry nearly $3 billion annually. IATA has been pushing for more than 3 years for the phasing out of paper tickets and currently 84% of passengers on IATA carriers fly on electronic tickets.
China however should be the first country which is totally electronic.
