crunchpadTechCrunch has release the prototype of their CrunchPad web tablet which is 18mm thick and is super lightweight. Currently plans are to sell these for around US200.

Think this is only good news for Tech Geeks, think again. A cheap, lightweight tablet pc has lots of business applications. Think about market researchers – intercept & door to door surveys administered with a tablet PC would not only be faster but would have great application as a replacement for cards.

Many research companies already use electronic devices for these surveys but because of cost & size they’re generally not used for cards and the size often slows down administration.
